A NERC Research Fellowship is available from 1 February 2005 to
undertake zooarchaeological work as part of a project entitled <LEFT DOUBLE QUOTATION MARK>Horse
Specialisation and Pastoralism in the Prehistoric Eurasian Steppe<RIGHT DOUBLE QUOTATION MARK>. You
will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team of
zooarchaeologists and archaeological chemists. You will be based in
Exeter, but the project will involve fieldwork and analysis in the
Republic of Kazakhstan. You should have a PhD, or equivalent research
experience, in the field of zooarchaeology. Fluency in both English and
Russian will be a strong advantage. Knowledge of the prehistoric
archaeology of the Central Asian Steppe would be also be an advantage.
This post is available for an initial thirty months with the possible
extension to three years.
