(I'd be curious to see the speeches of the Professors on this list, not
only we students)
I am developing teaching and assessment mechanisms (aka. "pedagogy")
suitable for training large numbers of engineering designers to
function in "extreme" or "special forces" environments. My primary
areas of investigation are (1) how do we scale engineering design
education so that it can be delivered to large numbers of students
(aka. how do we overcome the "2-sigma" problem"), and (2) how do we
teach engineering designers to design successfully in highly dynamic,
highly uncertain, interdisciplinary situations (aka. the "messes" found
in "extreme programming" or those experienced by military "special
forces").
