Health Economics Facility
The aims of the unit are to assist researchers to develop economic analyses within research projects, including modelling prior to, and alongside clinical trials and to help carry out economic evaluations; and to provide training and education in health economics and health care modelling.
The Health Economics Facility, which is funded by the NHS R&D programme, is located within the Health Services Management Centre. The unit provides specialist modelling skills to a range of projects, notably including the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) as part of a contract held jointly with the Department of Public Health & Epidemiology. To complement existing skills, a person with a particular interest in health care modelling is required.
The post
* Required to work on a range of projects, particularly those commissioned by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, as part of a contract held by HEF and the Department of Public Health & Epidemiology
* Complement the research of existing staff
The appointment may be at either research assistant or research fellow level. Appropriate training and support would be provided, particularly for more junior candidates. The main emphasis of the post would be on research rather than teaching but opportunities will be provided to gain teaching experience.
Post duration: 2 years
Salary: up to £29,621 (pay award pending).
