ITALIAN 'NEOLITHIC' SEMINAR
Dear All,
Apologies for any cross-postings: this is to invite people to attend the spring meeting of the informal seminar group on neolithic Italy which will be held at Leicester in the School of Archaeology & Ancient History on Wednesday April 21, provisionally from 2pm - 5pm, though this can be extended at either end if necessary. Please feel free to forward this to any individuals/lists who you think may be interested.
For those new to this group: these bi-annual seminars set up initially by John Robb (Cambridge) and Ruth Whitehouse (UCL) have been very informal (but informative) meetings of those working primarily on neolithic Italy, with short papers of c 20-25 minutes reporting on recent fieldwork, floating new ideas or inviting discussion of issues in other ways. Those attending have been primarily academics and research postgraduates.
The theme of the April meeting will be the elastic (or fluid?) concept of 'Connections', and contributions are invited which address this theme in some way. The group agreed recently that while we would try to maintain the geographical focus, we wanted to emphasise that periods of prehistory other than the neolithic are also of interest to many of us in the group. Offers of papers should please be sent to me, Mark Pluciennik, at [log in to unmask]
Details of how to get to Leicester and the School are most easily found at:

but please note that due to our recent move the Archaeology department is in fact in the Chemistry (Research) Building shown on the maps.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Mark Pluciennik
