CEFAS is a lively, thriving, scientific research agency delivering solutions to meet the diverse needs of organisations active in marine, coastal, estuarine and freshwater environments.
We are seeking to expand our dedicated in-house statistical competence. You will provide experienced statistical consultancy and conduct statistical research in your particular area of expertise. You will develop innovative solutions to novel problems and be involved with a wide range of consultancy topics covering the design, analysis and reporting of experiments, monitoring programmes and surveys. The post will involve the comparison of analytical methods and disease modelling and where appropriate, you will participate in expert working groups in support of both national and international aquatic science programmes.
A higher degree in statistics and at least three years experience as a statistician with previous consultancy interests is essential. You must be authoritative, reliable, flexible and able to work well with scientists from other disciplines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong publication record are also essential.
