There is of course always Esperanto. I think there may be other ways of
dealing with language differences but one of the essential questions becomes,
what are your goals. How far are you willing to go to understand what someone
is trying to say. It isn't just language it may also be context or for instance
the use of metaphor as opposed to factual data.
