depends somewhat, as your quotation marks imply, upon what "restored" means in
this context.
but surely we may assume that the various Imperial oppressions of the first
three centuries would have had some effect on the physical fabric of the
church(es) as well?
also, i should think that the fourth century would have been a "boom time" for
new construction and "restoration" --in the sense of expansion of previously
modest structures which had been outgrown ?
then there's that Julian guy, who died just a few years into D's tenure
--maybe he rendered a few churches in need of "restoration" ?
