Apologies for cross-posting
Are you involved in any reader development projects with adults?
The British Council is updating its database documenting key initiatives
and contacts for projects on reader-centred activity/reader development in
the UK. The primary focus is on projects with adults, but this can also
include inter-generational and families projects.
The Centre for Information Research (CIRT), based at the University of
Central England, is conducting this work on behalf of the British Council.
It is hoped that the database can be used as an information source by other
countries to facilitate the sharing of information on reader-centred
activities and give them ideas and advice on the possibilities for reader
development projects. However, the information will also be made available
in the UK as an up to date record of reader development activities.
We have already gathered information from key sites such as Branching Out
and the Reading Agency, but would be very grateful if you could provide us
with information about any reader-development projects that you are
involved in or know of, planning for the future etc.
Ideally, the details needed for the database are:
Project title; brief description; target audience; timescale;
town/region/country; contact name, telephone and email; web site address;
organised by;
However, any information that could be used as a starting point eg URL,
email address etc will be valuable in getting a comprehensive picture of
reader development activity in the UK.
Ideally, it would be good if you could get any responses to us by week
commencing January 12th
thanks
