PhD – Position: Eye movements in a navigation task

We are seeking a phD student to participate in a project of research into
how eye movements can be used to investigate landmark usage in a navigation
task. Navigation experiments will be performed in a virtal reality setup.
We are looking for a candidate with background in at least one of the
following fields: eye movement tracking
neurobiology
computer science, helpful would be the knowledge of C/C++, Performer and/or
matlab.
The interdisciplinary laboratory is equipped with a mobile ASL 501 eye
movement tracking system, an infrared-based tracking system for the
recording of the head movements (A.R.T – Advanced Realtime Tracking) and
several display technologies for the virtual reality experiments.
The project is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (BAT IIa/2).
Salary will be according to German BAT2a/2 regulations.
