Baudrillart's _Dictionnaire d'Histoire et de Geographie ecclesiastique_ also
has reliable lists of abbots, Bishops, etc. in its articles on various
places.
the articles are generally written by competent local scholars (Yves Delaporte
did the one on "Chartres") and are frequently quite good.
