italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Colleagues,
Can anyone enlighten me as to the particular associations with Santa
Fara? She is mentioned in Sciascia's 'Il giorno della civetta' (p.13,
Einaudi edition) as the saint to whom the venditore di panelle gives
thanks for escaping the bullet that strikes Colasberna. Colasberna's
firm is also called Santa Fara (p.15) making clear thta this saint
cannot be relied on! Any indication of her particular identity or
significance (or where I might find these) will be gratefully
received.
yours, Pauline Small
