Dear All,
Greetings from Southend on the east coast of England.
(Apologies for X posting as I have posted this message also to the Public
Health list)
I am in the process of preparing my presentation on "Designing A Disease
Management Model: Guidelines For Clinical Areas" to be delivered in the Arab
Health 2004 Congress.
Here is a part of my abstract. "Setting up of a Disease management programme
needs a set of skills and tools. These are knowledge base, ability to
identify relevant outcomes, information systems, tools for influencing
behaviour, and continuous quality improvement. These will be explored in
detail in the presentation. The benefits and pitfalls of this approach will
also be discussed.
Ready sources of evidence, principles of adopting/developing guidelines and
experience of others in the form of case studies will also be briefly
presented. Some examples of commercial disease management packages, the
benefits and problems of commercial sector involvement in disease management
will be discussed as a part of this presentation.
I have done a search of published literature, the World Wide Web and
organisations involved in this area. I would be very grateful if colleagues
can provide any information that I could use in my preparation/presentation.
With many thanks in advance and very best wishes,
Badri
