First announcement for "GeoMod2004", an international conference on
geological modelling (analogue and numerical) to be held in Emmetten,
Lake Lucerne, Switzerland from 9 to 11 June 2004.
Geological modelling is increasingly becoming a strategic tool in
studies of the Earth, influencing scientific, technical and economic
decision-making. Both analogue and numerical modelling can provide
complementary insights in the evolution of geological processes.
The GeoMod2004 conference is unique in its aim of bringing together
geoscientists from universities and industry who deal with analogue
and/or numerical models. We particularly encourage contributions in
which modelling predictions are tested against real-world case
studies, or compared with results from other model studies.
We envisage the following topics to play a major role during GeoMod2004:
* Surface Processes
* Orogenesis
* Sedimentary Basins; Fractures, Faults and Fluid Flow
* Geological Predictions
* Methods and Techniques
To ensure the widest possible dissemination of results, all
participants will be invited to present extended abstracts of their
contribution which will be published in a special issue of an
international journal (Deadline for abstracts is January 31, 2004).
We encourage you to make your preliminary registration before
NOVEMBER 1, 2003 via the GeoMod2004 home page:
