i first thought that it was a misspelling for "Charlieu", a known Cluniac
house in the Brionais (with some really spectacular sculpture).
but, obviously not.
where is "Cherlieu" ?

such "acquisitions" by the Cistercians were quite common, apparently; though i
didn't know about the trick of making the former head of things Prior.
