If no-one has a more definitive answer ... the last I heard is that
LCG were intending to deploy something fairly close to EDG 2.0, but
perhaps with some extra software of their own, and with MDS instead of
R-GMA until R-GMA was proved to be stable - although since EDG is
currently deploying both I'm not sure if that's a real difference.
EDG is also likely to experiment with VOMS in the near future.
The timescale was supposed to be that EDG would release 2.0, LCG would
then produce their own release and put it on their certification testbed,
there would be two weeks of testing, a two week deployment period, and it
would then be opened up as a production service on July 1st ...

You should probably be deciding now. In practice the main difference will
be that EDG will continue to be an experimental testbed whereas LCG
is supposed to be a stable production service.

You aren't really required to have those, you could have a CE only and
Sara is an SE-only site!

Steve Traylen can answer that better, but I don't think you need any
more, although WP7 might like you to have an NM. In the medium term
we will have a Local Replica Catalogue at every site, but at the moment
it's still a central service.
