Hi,
Some notes on the upgrade 1.4.12.
It's exactly the same as normal but there is a kernel upgrade, which
can make life more difficult.
So if you have hardwired a kernel version into you profile for an
SMP kernel then you need to point this at the new kernel.
So on LCFG server
/usr/sbin/updaterep -v
rm -rf /tmp/edg-release
gpp-fetch-edg-release -o /tmp -r v1_4_12
cp /tmp/edg-release/source/* /var/obj/conf/profile/source/.
(Taking care not to over site specific things )
cp /tmp/edg-release/rpmlist/* /opt/local/linux/6.2/rpmcfg
Modify you site-cfg.h so it contains v1_4_12.
If you have a smp kernel specified, eg
+update.lilokernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.19-6.2.12.ral_1smp
update this to the newer kernel. ( 2.2.24-6.2.3smp )
Recompile all your profiles.
On every node
/etc/obj/updaterpms run
To actually get the new kernel running you clearly have to reboot.
On all nodes run
/sbin/lilo -v
Reboot it and cross you fingers.
