medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi. I have just encountered, in a twelfth-century text (Gerhoh of
Reichersberg) a description of an obscene parody of the mass. I had
thought this kind of thing was an invention of the later middle
ages. Could someone with more background on witchcraft/diabolism/etc. than
me point me in the direction of reliable literature on this subject? Many
thanks.
