Hi,
I am currently starting a project in the Peruvian Andes and most likely
into the Eastern Cordillera and Sub-Andean Zone, south of 11 degree south.
Methods used will be fission-track (apatite and zircon), (U-Th)/He (apatite
and zircon(?)) and cosmonucleides (we are ambitious), all done in
Amsterdam. All this as you wondered is to quantify denudation. A relatively
clear but too broad description of the project is located there:
http://www.geo.vu.nl/users/isotopen/ under projects/geochronology and rate
of processes/Neogene landscape evolution for the ones interested.
Unfortunately I am running out of time to noticeably improve my knowledge
of the Peruvian Geology before field work starts, even if I did my Ph.D in
a similar region of Ecuador.
In consequence, I am looking forward for cross-sections, field
descriptions, advices, from litterature, current work or any unpublished
thesis... any piece of previous work that may facilitate my future sampling
strategy in this part of the Central Andes. I am also for sure open to any
collaboration on the base of mutual exchange.
cheers
