Reply below...> Has anyone out there written or have access to an Information Management
Strategy? As Information Management Officer for South Cambridgeshire
District Council, I'm required to develop an Information Management
Strategy for this Authority. Being new to this game and at the risk of
sounding very cheeky, does anyone out there have any documents of a similar
nature that I could read to aid my progress? Many thanks. RW. <
Hi,
If you have some budget, there is useful guidance published by the BSI, http://www.bsi-global.com/Portfolio+of+Products+and+Services/IT+Information/Doc+Management/Popular+Products/index.xalter
See also the DIRKS methodology http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/dirks/summary.html
Also the Public Record Office site http://www.pro.gov.uk/recordsmanagement/erecords/default.htm
Broadly speaking, I would suggest you include headings such as:
- Uniformity and coherence of classification
- Information security
- Disaster recovery and business continuity
- Accessibility and business process automation
- Retention, disposition and preservation
- Support for e-government initiatives
- Data protection and freedom of information
Good luck,
Reynold.
