medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi Phyllis- no way that Benedict XIII abdicated. In 1398 France and Spain
withdrew their obedience and he just ignored it. France came back to his
obedience in 1404. He hung on well past the Council of Constance. Tough and
stubborn old bird, he was. Best, Sharon
