medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
isn't this also a story told about the holy family on their flight to
egypt. tired, they sought refuge in a cave, and a spider quickly spun an
web over the entrance. herod's soldiers also believed the same thing. no
one could be inside. i have no idea where this comes from, i learned it as
a child from a big picture book of christmas stories from around the world.
