medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Hi all,
The SMFS now has sessions at the Midwest Modern Language Association, an
annual regional (kinder, gentler) version of the Big MLA. This year's
conference meets Nov 7-9 in Chicago, and the informal theme is "The
University," so there should be some provocative papers. Our sessions will
be called "Frontiers: New Directions in Medieval Feminist
Scholarship"--please feel free to pass this along to people you think might
be interested!
Also: in keeping with the conference theme, I'm organizing a session called
"What is an MA Degree for?" As director of a huge MA in English program,
I'm interested in knowing what people have to say about this, and though
it's not specifically a medieval topic, if you have directed or are
directing an MA program and would like to weigh in on this, please also
send me an abstract.
If you're interested in giving a 20 minute paper, please send me an
abstract by April 15th. For more info about the m/mla, see the M/MLA
website: http://www.uiowa.edu/~mmla/
Thanks very mush for considering this.
all best,
acb
