We collect our results at approx 7.30 a.m. and I arrange two teams of
volunteers. The first team meet in a designated room to sort all the results -
no one else is allowed in the room (I find a bribe of copious amounts of coffee
and biscuits works well). Each student has a named envelope and they are
stored alphabetically (brown envelopes for A2 and white for AS. We aim for a
10.30 a.m. handout for A'Level Results but hang on to the AS results and hand
them out at 12.00 noon. The handout is done in the social area where a second
team of volunteers collect designated trays of envelopes (a-c, d-f. etc)to be
distributed from set tables. Section Heads are also assigned areas of the
Social Area and notices are displayed asking A2 students to collect their
results and then see their section head to clear up any problems and to
complete a 'destinations form' this assists me with the completion of Section
50 documentation. The Careers Officer is also available to see any students
who need advice. The AS handout at noon proceeds in much the same way. It is
a stressful day but this routine seems to work well.
