Dear Colleague
(Apologies for cross-postings)
We hope you will find the following conference of interest:
RESEARCH FOR HEALTH IN PRIMARY AND COMMUNITY CARE:
REALITY, IMPACT AND FUTURE
Wednesday May 21st & Thursday May 22nd 2003, with Systematic Review
Workshop on May 23rd 2003
Fielder Centre, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK.
We are now taking bookings for this international conference in May 2003,
jointly organised by CRIPACC (Centre for Research in Primary and Community
Care) and HertNet (Hertfordshire Primary Care Research Network) at the
University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK.
Speakers include Professor Yvonne Carter, Queen Mary, University of London,
who will analyse the impact of research on practice and Professor Lesley
Doyal, University of Bristol, who will explore possible future directions
for research in primary care. There will also be concurrent sessions
addressing seven key themes.
The movement of primary care and public health to the centre stage of
national and international health and social care requires an ever stronger
evidence base for practice. There is increasing demand for practitioners
to evaluate and implement research findings within a context of rapidly
changing health and social care policy. This conference will provide an
opportunity to debate the realities of this shifting environment, to assess
the impact of research on practice and to explore possible future primary
care and public health research. The conference has secured leading
thinkers in the field to provide a framework for discussion and exchange of
ideas.
