CETIS Metadata and Digital Repository SIG Meeting
Glasgow, 18 March 2003
The next meeting of the CETIS MDR SIG will be at the offices of Learning
and Teaching Scotland <http://www.ltscotland.com/>, on the 18th of March
(no, not the 19th as I previously mentioned to some of you). Already on the
programme are:
- updates on recent developments at IMS, IEEE and other standards bodies.
- an introducation to the UK Common Metadata Framework.
- the JORUM+ project and JISC's digital repository for learning materials
<http://www.jorum.ac.uk/>.
I would also like to invite people working on projects relevant to metadata
and digital repository standards to book a slot and "show and tell" other
delegates what they have done. You can have as little as ten minutes or as
much as half an hour to describe any interesting development or plans that
you have, or just to raise issues for discussion within the group.
The meeting is open to anyone from UK HE and FE and there is no charge. The
meeting will start at around 10:30 and finish at around 4pm, lunch will be
provided. Travel to Glasgow is easy and relatively cheap: budget airlines
fly there from most of the more remote parts of the UK, and the west coast
train line gives you ample opportunity to admire some beautiful scenery.
Places are limited, so book soon by sending an email to me at
[log in to unmask] It would help if, when booking, you told me about any
special needs or requests, and also if you gave a brief outline of your
area of interest.
