We're currently exploring the possibility of adding the special collection
held within the Devon Early Years Partnership (Zero-14 Plus) for training &
cpd purposes to our catalogue and as stock items so that they are more
easily available to both our partners & their staff/volunteers and to the
public via our web-based reservation service and the library service point &
delivery network. The collection consists of some 2.5-3K items, very largely
fairly specialised cpd material covering all aspects of early years
provision involving childcare/development and the training & development of
paid & voluntary staffing. Sitting in two large cupboards in no recognisable
order (for public library purposes) a good deal is in series title order and
etc., ... not exactly run of the mill public library material
bibliographically speaking.
We're looking to recruit on a temp basis to take this on, but wondered if
anyone else has gone down this road who has a public (internet) access
catalogue that we might crib cat. & especially class no details from. Or
does anyone know of a special/academic library with similar web-based public
access that we might take a look at.
