medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Listmembers,
I am currently scratching around for a topic to do a PhD on. I am interested
in all things medieval but until now my work has focused on the Carolingian
Empire. I had the idea of researching Carolingian sermons because I am led
to believe after consulting a few books (notably B.M. Kienzle (ed.), The
Sermon (Typologie des sources...)) that there are opportunities for original
work there. Since I don't know anyone else to ask I would therefore be
immensely grateful indeed if anyone with expertise in this area would e-mail
me personally, or via the list if the advice is more generalised, with any
ideas on particular aspects of the topic, any unedited mss, work that has
covered this before (I am aware of a broad-ranging PhD on this by T. Amos in
1983) etc.
Thankyou very much for any help.
James McCune.
