medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I've read in several secondary sources that medieval commentators
complained/observed that more women than men went to church and more women
listened to sermons then men, but now I can neither lay my hands on those
secondary references or the primary texts from which they came (probably
bad filing or faulty memory on my part). Can anyone help? Preferably I'd
like late medieval references, but I suspect this is a long held
complaint/observation tied in with the idea that women are more religious
than men.
Thanks in advance,
Kit French
