Well said AF. We had another A****hole, (in my opinion) who was a so-called Govt. advisor to the DoH who they listened to several years ago called Tomlinson. He was very popular with HMG, bit like today who told the Govt. what they want to hear. Basically there were too many Hospitals and Docs in London. He pushed off and of course we are reaping the rewards. Left a terrible mess and buggared off no doubt on his A+ merit award probably living in Spain now or the South of France. Adrian and the others are picking up the mess to this day and will continue to do so during their professional careers.
I worked as a surgical registrar in inner London in the early 80's and we never had bed problems until that W****ker wrote his report.
Hence you can appreciate my detestation and loathing of Govt. advisors and quasi acaedemics. the only one who actually apologised was Vickers, the drug addict GP who only a few years ago said that the NHS reforms were all wrong and apologised to the profession.
