Dear all,
Apologies for the short notice.
The Library and Information Service (LIS) of the University of Patras,
Greece is organizing a Workshop entitled "The Active Role of Libraries in
Web Based Education", that will take place in the University of Patras on
11th April 2003. Selected lecturers from the United Kingdom will discuss the
development of the Virtual Learning Environment Systems and the role that a
Academic Library can play in delivering and supporting such systems, giving
live examples from projects running currently in the UK (DiVLE, ENCORE).
Take a look at the final programme at
http://www.lis.upatras.gr/LIS/FORMS/Workshop_Apr_EL.shtml.
The event will take place in the Building of the Pre-Clinical Functions
(opposite the Medical Library) in the School of Medicine, Computer Center,
1st Floor.
Please note that the seminar and all supportive material will be delivered
in English. In order for the workshop to be more informative and to maximize
the potential benefits, the number of people who can attend the seminar will
be limited to 40. As a result, we will be able to process only the 40 first
applications that we will receive. In case of cancellations we will proceed
to the next ones and we will notify the applicants.
