Apologies for cross-posting

Dear Colleagues,
REVIEW OF FE STAFF NEEDS WITHIN AN ON-LINE LEARNING COMMUNITY
If you have already responded to this, thanks! If not we would be very glad
of your feedback. It goes out now to the wider FE community, to inform the
development of the VLS with its new software platform over the summer.
Background
The Virtual Learning Space (VLS) is an on-line communication environment for
subject teachers, learning support staff and researchers across the
educational sectors. The VLS is hosted by Robert Gordon University in
Aberdeen, with a cross-institutional steering group from Further and Higher
Education. It is accessible on the internet at
http://itlearningspace-scot.ac.uk as an on-line space where people can come
together to share good practice, exchange ideas and establish self-help
groups (through 'real-time virtual chat' or postings to discussion rooms).
It also has links to resources and expertise relating to all aspects of ICT
for education.
A popular aspect of the VLS is its 'Topic of the Month' programme with
discussions on particular on-line learning issues, led by one or more
experts in the field. On-line events (seminars, conferences) are also hosted
by the VLS, a recent one being 'The March Winds of Change: The Impact of the
Internet on Further Education' which ran in association with ScotFEICT
through March.
The Scottish Centre for Research into On-Line Learning and Assessment
(SCROLLA) are currently evaluating the VLS to establish how it could be
widened to meet the needs of FE sector staff. We would be very glad of your
input, whether you are already familiar with the VLS or whether you have not
yet explored its possibilities. Please complete our short questionnaire by
clicking the link below (four minutes should do!) - we will keep you posted
of developments meantime, especially the launch event for the new VLS
software platform...

Thankyou.
