hi johannes,
i missed your first try with this email. i cannot offer you more then my
personal experience and ideas but i also thought that the origin in the spm
templates were not at the anterior comissure. or at least not where i think
the anterior comissure should be on a smoothed image - which looks more like
an impressionist painting, up for personal iterpretations. but anyways
interpret i did and set the origin manually to a slighly more anterior and
inferior direction and i got better results. For example:
SPM T1 origin 46 64 37
MY T1 origin 46 65 34
i don't exactly know how the smoothing comes about in the templates. are the
individual images smoothed and then all the hundreds of brains averaged or
are they first averaged and then smoothed? in any case would it be possible
to set the origins before smoothing? but anyways, i just sent my origin
settings for comparison but not to offer it as a standard or anything.
