Thanks very much for the responses. It turned out that a recent version of
BOTH the operating system and MatLab were required. (Thanks to Luc
Berthouze for pointing this out.) Linux kernel version 2.4.20 or later and
MatLab version 6.5 were needed. Also, the SPM99 file spm_input_ui.m
requires a SPACE at lines 790 (' str) and 1302 (' DefStr) to separate
elements in MatLab 6.5.
