Apologies for cross-posting.
If you ever wondered what the role of the Joint Information Systems
Committee is and how it impacts on you and your library why not attend the
UC&R (Scottish Section) JISCovery event at 2pm on Friday 7th March 2003 in
the Board Room of the National Library of Scotland, George IV Bridge,
Edinburgh?
Our two speakers will be Stuart James, Librarian of Paisley University, who
also Chairs SCURL, and Norman Wiseman, Head of Outreach & Institutional
Support at the JISC.
Stuart will be looking at JISC from both the academic librarian's and our
users' point of view and asking just how relevant its services are. Norman
will give us a perspective of JISC from the inside and offer an overview of
the main areas of activity that impact on academic libraries.
The meeting will be prefaced at 1.30 pm by the UC&R (Scottish Section) AGM
to which all attendees are invited and will finish at approximately 3.30pm.
Attandance at JISCovery is free; refreshments will be available after the
event.
If you wish to attend JISCovery please contact Diane Devine
([log in to unmask]) with your name and institution details by Friday 28th
February.
