Dear all,
The Radstats Troika was told today the very sad news of Prof. Steve
Bennett's sudden death on 27 March, after a series of strokes.
There is a message from his colleague Richard Hayes, and a link to a
Guardian obituary from his home page at the London School of Hygiene and
Tropical Medicine, University of London, at
http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/ideu/staff/sbennett.html
According to Richard, if you knew Steve and would like to send a message of
condolence to his family you can do so by sending an e-mail to

The Guardian article, subtitled, "Brilliant statistician who used his skills
to fight tropical disease" explains his statistical contributions to the
field of epidemiology, as well as his early involvement with Radical
Statistics.
On behalf of the Troika could I ask someone who knew Steve to help us with a
statement for the newsletter, and perhaps a message to the family from the
group? Please write to me or [log in to unmask] if you can help.
Regards,
Robin Rice
