Hello List readers
Another feature I heard of recently from a colleague that can be
illuminating when exploring the properties function of Word is
to look at the total editing time. "A large report edited in 3
minutes? Hmmmm.....interesting " There are satisfactory
explanations, of course, but this discussion about using
electronic detection is about investigating a case, not
confirming one.
I wonder, too, if it's worth having reactive and proactive
procedures ie: things you do when you suspect a case vs things
you do routinely to screen. Once the JISC service can manage
batch uploading, there offeris the way to screen proactively if
institutions decide to do this. This aspect is worth
considering when evaluating the utility of various tools.
Finally, I can certainly confirm that a literal Google search is
by far the most frequent method I encounter when talking to
academics about how they manage detection.
