I'm sure you have all had a peek on the internet now and again for valuable
resources to aid your writing practices. As a port of call you may have
even found your way to the resource section of the Northumbria Study Skills
Centre
(http://online.northumbria.ac.uk/central_departments/student_services/study_
skills/studskil.htm).
It is not uncommon for external companies to contact us and many others
asking to provide links to their service. In question I draw your attention
to the recently received email to the study skills centre.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a webmaster of the www.Essay-Lab.com, the new site that contains the
information and tips for writing, we include basic and advanced tips for
writing. We also have guides to better quality of writing essays and
research papers. I would be really happy if you could add my site to your
links list (resources). I believe that information on my web-site could be
useful for many of your visitors.
Despite the fact that my site is a new one we are working very hard to make
it interesting and useful. We are updating it regularly with more
information.
Thank you in advance, I would appreciate your help very much.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Ann Lambert

Ann Lambert (1st October 2003), this is a new link suggestion [e-mail to
Helen Danbury],[Online]
At first appearance the email seems a legitimate request of a new website
that practices and offers useful study information. However, it is in fact
a promotion of a new essay bank.
We ask you all to be very careful and to fully investigate emails such as
these. As a result of this the request will NOT be hosted on the Study
Skills Centre website and instead finds a new home on the JISCPAS site.
Please also note we are including the link in our Essay banks section to be
sure both students and academics alike are aware these sites do exist and
are being monitored by detection services.
Thank you
