Head of Institute for Product Design
At Danmarks Designskole, a position as head of Institute for Product Design
is vacant as soon as possible.
The head of institute for product design must have visions for the design
education. The applicant must have achieved his/her professional insight in
the design field through experience achieved in industry, in research or
artistic practice at a high international level.
The head of institute must be development orientated, possess good
interpersonal skills and be able to motivate the staff through dialogue and
delegation of responsibility in a democratic decision making structure.
The head of institute will be responsible for the strategic, professional
development of the institute of Product Design. Moreover, the duties of the
head of institute include the responsibility for the financial and staff
management of the institute.
The institute for Product Design includes the specialized fields: clothing
design, textile design, furniture & spatial design, industrial design and a
superstructure of glass and ceramics, and is presently in the process of
revising the structure of the institution which will result in a
multi-annual agreement with the Ministry of Culture.
The areas of achievement of the agreement will include the following:
· A closer cooperation with the industry
· Internationalisation
· Increased IT-level
· Introduction of a 3 + 2 structure and an increased geographic
diffusion and specialized environments
· Focus on postgraduate and tertiary education
The development of a new design education has a high priority at Danmarks
Designskole, and ct the head of institute is expected to be present on a
daily basis.
The salary is according to agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC
(the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations)
Deadline for application, including documentation of educational and
professional qualifications and a short statement of the applicant's visions
for the education and development of the institute for product design marked
"Head of Institute for Product Design" is January 13, 2003 at 12 o'clock
noon.
