...just wanted to comment on David's question about the need for creativity
within design.
It might be better put that play is a bigger part of innovation and is the
real pre-cursor to 'design' than creativity.

Some pretty square individuals can have great ideas whilst 'playing'. Is
this creativity?
Will argue that only the results of design can really be understood by the
vast majority (only my opinion again).
However, paying for a house with a set of felt pens and some paper, it's
some achievement if you think of actual values.
Creativity, playfulness and talent must form some kind of foundation triad
with which a designer is equipped to a greater or lesser degree.
Insanity or nonconformity must also form a part of this foundation - not
fitting in - means a designer can still play and not function as the rest
of the repressed adults.
Finally David, If I believe in God - then it is my belief. Telling me there
is no God acknowledges my Belief. So you acknowledge the existence of my
God. Thanks.
"Don't need creativity in design" - sheesh - you need to get out more and
leave the possums alone.
