These two have been my personal favorites.
1) Design Secrets: Products: 50 Real-Life Product Design Projects -- by Industrial Designers Society of America
2) Innovation : Breakthrough Thinking at 3M, DuPont, GE, Pfizer, and Rubbermaid (Businessmasters Series)
by John Kao (Author) (Hardcover - July 1997)

The quaterly "@issue" (hope I am right about the name) magazine also has 4-5 excellent case studys in every issue. They involve strategic thinking, graphic and product design. I can go and look up the details of the magazine at home.
I am very interested in the list that you will compile. Please share it with us.
Thanks,
Amit
