Jonas,
I wrote you privately in response to a personal note you wrote to me.
For those who may not know the context of your post, the series of
excerpts you posted refer partially to the keynote speech you
presented in Barcelona at the European Academy of Design. I asked for
a copy you posted a series of propositions earlier this year. You
sent it. This week, I explained to you in private why I decided not
to debate it.
IMHO, it is inappropriate to launch a public debate by posting a
private exchange. In most circles, this is considered a serious
violation of trust.
Beyond this, you selectively edited my private letter to you. In my
view, your amendments misrepresent my position.
When you invited me to participate in the Basic Paradox, you sent me
two position papers. I took your papers seriously, read them
carefully, and stated your position as fairly as I could before
responding. I distinguished among the different positions, stated the
areas where we agree, and stated issues on which we disagree.
When you asked me to respond to eleven questions from you and Jan
Meyer-Veden, I answered as carefully and fairly as I could.
Anyone who wishes to do so is free to use your links to review that debate.
I do not intend to debate your EAD paper, and I will not respond to your note.
Ken
