I am currently conducting research into interior design/interior architecture postgraduate programs - the types of research degrees offered and the research areas being undertaken. I am particularly interested in Research by Project Doctorates/Masters and the crossdisciplinary research occurring within these degrees.
I am therefore keen to hear from postgraduate coordinators and academics involved in the delivery of interior design/interior architecture postgraduate programs.
Specifically my questions are:
What kinds of degrees are offered i.e. PhD by Research Project; PhD by Research Thesis; Masters by Research Project; Masters by Research Thesis; or Masters by Coursework?
How many candidates are enrolled in each degree (differentiating between Doctorate and Masters; and whether by project, by thesis, or by coursework)?
Broadly, what are the areas of research being conducted in relation to each type of degree?
Lastly, what backgrounds do the candidates come from - specifying what type of degree they are undertaking? Interior design/architecture, visual arts, performing arts, journalism etc?
