Hi, all. Before the conference ends, I wanted to thank Ken for convening
it--what a great idea!--and everyone else for participating in it. This
conference gave me the nudge I needed to finally sit down and read the UCI
proposal, and I'm glad I did. I am very impressed with its thoughtfulness,
and was happy to hear from many of its authors during this conference
regarding their decision-making process (thank you!). I hope very much that
the project comes to fruition, and that if/when it does, we can have
occasional progress reports, or another similar conversation on the list at
some later date, about how it's been going. As far as I know there's no
feminine equivalent to the word "avuncular," but if there were, it would
describe how I now feel about UCI--not exactly a sense of ownership, but
certainly one of keen interest, about its future. I want to see this "baby"
grow up to be healthy and strong!
Thanks, everyone, for a great conversation.
