Dear Michael,
Blondin's were also used in the Granite quarries of Devon, but off hand I
can't remember the date. Peter Stanniers book, South West Granite details
them though. There was also a blondin at Hodge Close slate quarry in the Lake
District, but this was not installed until 1910'ish.. I have a Bullivant
catalogue of 1905 that 'shows off' their rope systems around the world - all
p.graphs..
