Dear Prof. Dr. Eberhard Wachtler and Otfried Wagenbreth and friends of the list,
I am looking for information on the life of the famous mining engineer
Guido Kustel (1817-82). I need to know something about the period from
his graduating in Freiberg (1837) to his emigration to California in 1851 where he transferred barrel amalgamation silver process. Did he train as a metallurgist in Halsbrucke near Freiberg? Was he the one who modified the process (from cold to hot amalgamation) in Nevada in the Washoe district? Or a certain Veach?
While waiting for your kind reply I send you my best regards. Sincerely
yours,
Donata Brianta
