A small correction to a listing in Adrian's site, as well as in Roger's original posting on this topic. Glengowla is in the Republic of Ireland, which is not part of the UK - so it is incorrect to include it in an UK list. For information, there is also an underground mine visit experience at the Arigna Colliery in Co. Roscommon (also Republic of Ireland).
