Hi everyone,
There used to be (1996) a riveted / egg ended air receiver at the Geevor
Tin Mine, that had been down rated & then used as a water tank. Not sure if
it is made of wrought iron or steel plate. The receiver may have been
constructed at the Holmans (St. Just) Tregaseal foundry in the early 1908
era? This mod to a water tank took place in the 1960's. It was situated on
concrete plinths behind the Victory shaft winding house when I last observed
it.
Being a pressure vessel, records of its pedigree etc should still be at the
mine in the copious engineering records there.
Regards, Bob Orchard.
