It was Fill off and get off, sometimes, or Fill off and Pi** off,
only after you had filled of your 16 yards (in different seams Barnsley S
York's) If you did not fill it off the packers used in there packs in the
gob (grooves) a practice not recommended because of the waste of coal and
the softness of the packs with should have been filled waste rock from the
main and tail gates. It happened many many times, this leads us into another
area of the long wall advancing or retreating pratice.
