EUSIDIC Spring Meeting 2003
Information Policies in a Complex World

Karlsruhe, January 2003 - EUSIDIC, the European Association of Information
Services, will hold its annual Spring Meeting at the Renaissance Hotel in
Karlsruhe, Germany on 17-18 March 2002.
The programme of this event entitled ‘Information Policies in a Complex
World’ is divided into three sessions exploring themes such as
- the EU Directive on Copyright,
- digital rights management,
- encryption technology and its applications,
- balancing ownership of content and intellectual property
- access to information for research.
Already confirmed to speak at the conference are ,among others, Thomas
Dreier, Professor of Law at the University of Karlsruhe and Laurence W.
Bebbington, Law Librarian at the University of Nottingham, Wes Crews, CEO,
Infotrieve, Mark Holland of Gale Group and Brian Earle, CEO, Envisional
Solutions PLC, UK.
The conference is designed to maximise the opportunity for discussion and
debate at both a personal and a group level, within and outside the formal
sessions. EUSIDIC events are well-known for their networking opportunities
and have consistently provided an International forum for participants in
the global information community to update themselves and benefit from the
ideas and experience of their fellow delegates and speakers.
