APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING

Since the fall of the previous Iraqi regime, coalition forces have been based in Iraq to support the reconstruction process. The health team in the South of the country, working out of Basra, has identified a need for up to date medical journals, and text books. The standard of medical education here is high, but has suffered over the last 10 or 12 years from a lack of access to up to date resources. We are working to improve access to written texts, and also to the internet.
I am writing to ask for your help in securing both backdated, and recent copies of medical journals across all specialties. These can be sent via the Coalition Provisional Authority (South) Health Team to a British Forces address which is freepost for all packages up to 2kg. The team will then make arrangements for the journals to be taken to the Teaching Hospital for onward distribution to the 12 major hospitals in the Basra region.
It would also be very useful if you could include a small advert in whichever journals or periodicals you think best, asking for up to date text books that are in a reasonable condition, and are no longer needed. Again, these can be sent to the BFPO address. There is no limit on the number of packages that can be sent. Again, we will ensure that these reach the Medical School library.
The address to send parcels to is:
